I am Enough, You are Enough

Over the past few months I have learnt a lot of lessons, some have come naturally and some I have been reminded of through beautiful gestures and fate.

One of those lessons was learning that I am in fact enough.

In the lead up to my first luxury SUP Yoga Retreat I was so excited, grateful and inspired due to the success of selling it out in 2 weeks (I know right!!) that I really wanted to provide each of my beautiful guests a gift to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to provide a small memory they could take away with them to remember those blissful moments on the beach or the water when ever reality as taking over.

My quest for some small, thoughtful gifts opened a network of conscious, gorgeous companies and people who I loved connecting with to try find that special something I could pass on to my guests.

One company in particular was Violet Gray Design, who are a sister duo on the Gold Coast in Australia that hand make divine jewellery. As it turned out Frances and Alex were at Wanderlust Festival which provided the perfect opportunity to talk about my welcome gifts and whether there was some way to work together.

As we got talking about the retreat and the gifts and my explanations as to why I was searching for something so meaningful, Frances looked at me and with a completely open heart said  “do you need to provide gifts? You need to remember that you are enough, everyone is coming to this retreat because of what YOU are offering.”

And she was right, my guests booked on to the retreat to spend the weekend with me, finding bliss on the beach and on the water and enjoying the luxurious surrounds that Noosa Heads has to offer.

So why do I continue searching for more? Why is it necessary to always be finding that next best thing, chasing a new memory, becoming more than we are meant to be at that exact moment. Why can’t we just be satisfied with exactly who we are and what we have achieved from what we have put out into the world?

I accept that if we did not try new things, or try to pursue the things that we are passionate about then how could we feel that we are enough, because we will not feel fulfilled.

As it happens, on the retreat one of my gorgeous attendees Chloe brought her lovely jar of hearts which she had lovingly prepared for moments and occasions like the SUP Yoga Retreat to share kind words written on a love heart. Each person put their hand in the jar to choose a heart. The heart I chose said ‘You Are Enough’ and it took my breath away.

Not only was it the exact message that Frances had said to me with such passion but as fate would have it the message was being reinforced by way of a loving set of words, written on a love heart from a person who had no idea how or why it meant so much to me (she does now).

These messages, written and verbal were a reminder that I think we all need.

I am now choosing to remember that I Am Enough.

When we pursue our passions and strive to be what we are meant to be and choose to do this for ourselves, the world will recognise and things will fall into place.  We just need to be patient, recognise who and where we are at this present moment and be content in the fact that this is where we are meant to be and eventually life will fall into place.

Trust in yourself, and the world will trust in you too.

Breathe in presence, Breathe out Gratitude - Guest Blog

We all hear it. Be more grateful, be more present. But do we truly understand why it is important? Do we have a tool that can directly and almost immediately bring us into the present moment? Or is it just something we think is beneficial for our health and happiness but we don’t know how to integrate.

Do I even need to state that our breath is more important than healthy food, alkaline water, green smoothies and daily exercise. Why? Our breath is our life force, with out it we die within minutes. Our lungs are our life support, and our breath is always there to nourish our body with oxygen, cleanse our body from toxins and with little or no effort at all.

Anytime we feel scattered when making choices and “big” decisions, anxious about the future, stuck in the past, or nervous tension, our breath is here to anchor us. Ground us in the present moment where we can feel, connect and find clarity. Like a life long companion waiting for you to reconnect, with open arms and abundance of energy to share. When living in presence we feel truly “here” in every situation, whether we are walking, hanging the washing up or in conversation. Like we have no where better to be than where we are at this present moment. It gives us time to appreciate what is really going on “now”. Our days don’t feel as rushed just to get to the end. We stop racing to death and start living at our full potential right here, right now.

The problem is, it is too simple. Therefore hard to see the point in just taking a few deeper, slower, longer breaths per day. Human beings breathe 21 600 times per day so by changing 3 of these each day we are changing a massive pattern, which is life changing. The best thing is, correct breathing is free. Now there is something to be grateful for.
