For those of you who follow me on social media you may have wondered what this @classpass thing was that I was talking about... It's something that in my travels this past year I would have loved to know about and finally, finally it's come to Brisbane which I am very excited about!
Class pass gives you access to thousands of different classes at studios across major cities (think Brisbane, Sydney, London, New York, LA etc. etc...) where you can book in to attend fitness, barre, yoga, pilates, fighting, dance classes and more for one simple and easy fee. When I was in London it was so confusing trying to figure out what classes were on at what times, and what each of the classes were about, was it a hot class or normal, where exactly was it in comparison to where I was etc. that sometimes it was easier to just go to what I knew rather than trying something different. While I was there I was talking to a friend about how great it would be to have an app that could give me all of the information I was missing in one succinct place to make it easier to get around to all of the different studios and teachers I wanted to see. Class Pass is the answer to that!
It's easy to use app gives you the ability to book your class quick and easy, scroll through the offerings based on time and even search depending on your current location (v. clever). You can also provide reviews to the studios and if your plans don't work out with enough notice you can cancel your class free of charge. The best thing for me though, given I never really know where I'm going to be and what class I'll be able to make is that I can finally avoid having to pay casual rates at studios and simply have one payment which gives me enough options throughout the month to get value for money. This absolutely would have come in handy for my couple of months in and around London as casual passes there are definitely not cheap.
So far this past month I've been able to try 3 yoga studios that I have never been to before, and a heap of new teachers across Brisbane which has been inspiring and amazing to take my practice to a different level with different variations and personal touches added in each class. The only thing I haven't been daring enough to try so far is to go to a boxing/ fight/ barre or fitness class... I will get there I'm sure but I'm just happy practicing strong, sweaty yoga for now (and I get my fitness by walking 5km sometimes before I get there).
Did I also mention that you can give the gift of Class Pass? Yup, if you know someone who would want to try it for a month and it's their birthday coming up you should definitely do it! Maybe even buy yourself a pass to try at the same time and you can have a workout buddy to go along with.
Overall this month I have thoroughly enjoyed taking my practice between the beach, the ocean and some very beautiful studios, it has given me a boost as I start what will be a massive year of teaching in Australia, Croatia, Greece, London, the Isle of Wight and more... Class Pass definitely makes it easy to Get Your Move On.
